Catalyss Counseling is a small group practice located in the Denver-metro area of Colorado. We provide online and in-person counseling for adult professionals, parents, and pregnant/postpartum moms throughout Colorado. Our specialty treatment areas are anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, and perinatal mental health. The treatment modalities we utilize include CBT, grief and loss, motivational interviewing, ACT, person-centered, strengths-based, and EMDR.
I (Shannon Heers) am the owner of Catalyss Counseling. I have over 20 years’ of experience in the mental health field doing a variety of jobs, working both in community mental health and private practice. I understand and have worked within many mental health systems, hospitals, and treatment programs/centers throughout my career, as well as being in management for over 15 years. I also have expertise in program development, staff hiring, retention, and management, and development of new clinicians to the field. I have worked in hospitals doing crisis work, in nursing homes and assisted living facilities doing case management and therapy, in residential settings with SPMI adults, and have been in private practice for over 6 years.
For clinical supervision and consultation, I have had multiple trainings and extensive experience in working with both pre-licensed and already licensed clinicians in a variety of stages throughout their career. I offer individual supervision and consultation both in an online format and in-person (once COVID is done) for clinicians throughout Colorado.
The clinical supervision models that I pull from include skills based models, where you learn specific therapeutic skills, process models where we examine parallel processes, psychotherapy based models where we delve into a specific theoretical orientation, and the developmental model, where I match my supervision and consultation to where you are at as a developing counselor. However, I am mostly passionate about the personal growth model, where we work together to identify and increase awareness of yourself as a therapist and how this affects your work with clients.
I have experience working with adults with anxiety, depression, substance abuse, mood disorders, SPMI, and grief and loss. I would be a good fit to work with you if you are interesting in continuing to learn and develop as a therapist, not just to get in your required number of supervision hours. I expect you to come prepared to supervision and present cases and discuss difficult issues. If this seems like a good fit for you, I’d love to be considered as a clinical supervisor or clinical consultant for you.
